Council Nominations are now open!

The first elections for nine positions on the Harmony Alliance Council will be held during April and May 2019.

The following positions will be elected by their respective constituencies (member groups) within the Alliance Members, through a democratic election:

  • Four (4) positions for organisational members representing migrant and refugee women in Australia;
  • Four (4) positions for organisational members working for the advancement and inclusion of migrant and refugee women in Australia;
  • One (1) individual member.

Elected Alliance Council members will serve a term of two (2) years, with a possibility to re‑nominate for election for one more consecutive two-year term.

All members are eligible to nominate as candidates, including current members of the Council (who may serve for another consecutive term).

If you would like to nominate, please email the Harmony Alliance Secretariat

Your email should include a ‘Candidate Profile’ (maximum 500 words – preferably in a Word document format or in the body text of an email) outlining either your organisation’s election platform (for organisational members) or your personal platform (if you are an individual member).

We recommend including a description of your experience, your goals for the Alliance, and your networks and community affiliations. Organisational candidates should also provide information on where their organisation is located, as well as a short biography of their proposed primary representative on the Council. You can also include an optional photo and/or logo.

The Secretariat will acknowledge receipt of your nomination. If you do not receive this acknowledgement, please ensure you follow up to make sure your nomination has been received.

Nominations close at 9am on Friday 17 May (AEST)
