Sexual Harassment in the Workplace Report

Partnering with Monash Gender & Family Violence Prevention Centre, Griffith University, and ANROWS, our study is a big step in understanding how migrant and refugee women experience workplace sexual harassment in Australia. This research is in line with the Australian Government’s A Roadmap for Respect, filling a gap in what we know about migrant and refugee women's experiences. 

Almost half of the women we spoke to faced workplace sexual harassment in the last five years. Mostly, it was men in higher positions or clients who were perpetrators. The women in this study felt the main reasons behind this were their gender and race. This shows how discrimination based on both things is a big issue. We must find ways to stop this discrimination in workplaces. 

This report forms the first stage of the study, the final report will be launched next year.
